Upvotes and Downvotes on forum

Hey! I think it would be very cool if an upvote option could be added to the forums.
A downvote option is not necessary but could be implemented if the upvote one works well.

Allmost like reddit :smiley: Guys give me your opinions :slight_smile:

For what reason? A forum doesnā€™t work like reddit, threads have a chronological order to function as the progression of a debate. So either upvotes will mess up the chronological order, or itā€™s more a ā€œlikeā€ feature for each answer?

I donā€™t see the benefits in that at allā€¦

(Also maybe this thread shouldā€™ve been in the ā€œServer Suggestionā€ sub-forum)

I wanted to hear what people thought about it, and not make it a ranking but more of pointing out the interesting and hot threads.

We arent anywhere near populous enough where thats necessary, weā€™ll have maybe 1-2 posts a day tops

There is a feature implementing ā€œlikesā€ and ā€œdislikesā€ on forums. Basically, it would allow us to express the fact that we agree about a response or a remark without actually posting a message only saying ā€œI agree with what he/she said just thereā€.

I already saw that on many forums. I do not know if itā€™s useful, but it wouldnā€™t hurt, in my opinion, and may be closer to what Cookie was thinkingā€¦

We have a suggestions forums btw.

I stick with my first point, we are nowhere near busy enough to warrant that, and Iā€™ve been on a server that did that and all it did was create a circlejerk where the same people upvoted each others comments and completely put off anyone else from posting. Suffice to say the server didnt last, partially because of that reason (people outside that circle jerk, me included, ended up leaving. Server died soon after)
