Hello all!
For some reason, going through the nether portal from the far-out of the overworld (around over 500 blocks away from spawn) killed any player who went through the portal. Sorry about the incident.
However, the problem is now fixed! You will no longer die by suffocation when you enter the nether portal from the overworld to the nether!
Also, it seems like going through some nether portals that previously killed you gives you all the items lost by anyone to you. If you do pick up a bunch of random items, be sure to give the items back to the respective owners by finding the owner or by putting a chest near the “death portal” and putting a sign on it.
Again, I’m so sorry that this happened. Hopefully, the nether portals will not kill you once again. Although it may not kill you, make sure you have more than three hearts of health before entering the nether portal just in case.
