Mods that are allowed

Can we get a comprehensive guide as to which modifications are allowed?
Right now there are a few that I know of: Optifine and Minimap mods.
They must be client mods that do not add any new items to the game.
I want to install Invtweaks but I’m not sure if it is allowed.

Optifine and Rei’s minimap are both allowed. After briefly looking at invtweaks, I think it’s fine if people use it.

I got an authorization for the light level overlay mod, you can find it here. It doesn’t do much, except show the light level of surfaces.

Essentially that is just data that is already accessible by the player, just with a more visual indicator.

Definitely allowed as far as I’m concerned.
