Hey folks,
I have some super fun chest protection exploit stuff to share with everyone! I’ve made some changes to how chests deal with hoppers because of an exploit we’ve run into.
By default, LWC (the plugin we use for protecting chests) disables hopper usage with chests. A while back I enabled hoppers by default because of the constant requests for it - Of course, it turns out there was a good reason hoppers were off by default in LWC.
Players were able to place a hopper underneath a protected chest and suck items out of it! Because of this exploit, I have now disabled hopper access to chests by default - You’ll have to type /lwc flag hopper on and left click on your new chests to grant them hopper access. This does however mean anybody will be able to suck items from them, so don’t grant hopper access to chests with a lot of expensive goods in them!
One way to protect your chests that have hopper access on is to place blocks directly underneath the chest and place a sign on it. Then protect the sign. That way, nobody can place a hopper underneath your chest because it’s blocked by your protected block/sign combo.
Notice: we are aware of some minor theft using this method around spawn. if you notice any missing blocks from your chests around spawn, send an admin a message and we will return the items for you.
On an unrelated note: We’ve added a nether border, it’s a radius of 2,500 blocks.
