Community events!

We are planning to hold a few events in the future! I wanted to get some feedback on the current ideas:

Arcane PvP tournament!

Contestants would pay a diamond entree fee, and the winner takes all! Each battle would take place at a different arena built by players. The best arena has the honor of hosting the final fight. Each fight will be recorded and made into a video series - Maybe with an entertaining commentator? An idea for a reward on top of diamonds would be the dragon egg (currently held by jugglingman) as a trophy.

Spawn building event!

I had an idea to get everyone together and improve the spawn. Imagine if for a day or longer, we improved upon current spawn builds and made it active again! We would tear down inactive builds and replace them with masterpieces! We could then select a winning build and reward the builder(s) somehow. It would also be really fun if we all got together and planned out some big group builds nearby spawn. We’ve got a lot of amazing builders, imagine if everyone planned out a great city or some other theme and built it together! Ideas of mine were boats and a port, or a giant treehouse town.

If you have any suggestions for these events, or other event ideas, please leave a reply! I think these are going to be a lot of fun. :slight_smile:

Edit: For those planning stadiums early, remember to not only build a nice area for two people to fight, but also to include space for spectators. There may be 5-15 people watching. And keep in mind you don’t necessarily have to build a simple stadium - Anything works! Maybe one of the fights will take place on a boat. Be creative!

This sounds like a great idea on both accounts. I do have a few questions concerning the PVP Tournament. Would it be like winner takes all armor, do we bring our own armor, stuff like that. Another idea that I had was maybe redo the nether and end areas of the server. Since not a lot of people visit the nether we could make it better and give them a reason. Just a few suggestions. -YUBH8EN

Good questions! We’ll likely give the two fighters the same gear and potions so it’s fair. Also, just for example purposes - The cost of entry will be 20 diamonds or so. The winner would take the entire pot! Or maybe we’ll have 2nd and 3rd get some too.

As for the nether and end, they aren’t seen as much as spawn so they aren’t as much of a priority.

Bring your own gear
Gear should look like:
Armor: Protection IV and Unbreaking III on Helm,Chest,Legs,Boots.
Sword: Ub. III Sharp V
Bow: Ub III Power V Punch II
Apples: 8 Enchanted golden apples
Food: Stack of steak

What do you guys think about Flame on bows/swords?
I’d like them off for a duel but that’s not full OP gear, dont mind using it either way.
If we do use fire, both contestants should have fire on their respective bow/sword

And/Or (Diamond)

Diamond
Entry: 20 diamonds

Armor: Unenchanted Diamond set.
Sword: Unenchanted Diamond sword.
Bow: Unenchanted Bow with 64 arrows
Potions: 3 splash healing II
Food: 16 baked potatoes

Iron
Entry: 32 Iron

Armor: All iron armor
Sword: Iron Sword
Bow: Unenchanted bow with 32 arrows
Potions: 3 splash healing I
Food: 16 baked potatoes

Melee
Entry: Free

Armor: None
Weapons: Fist
No bow or potions.
Food: 1 carrot (or a few)

Not sure if there was a plan already but I wanted to break the ice on this topic. :smiley:
I think from here we would take everyone who signs up and make separate brackets for each event then work out all the fine details, time/date/arcane arena, after everyone finishes signing up.

I do realize the OP Diamond takes some time to make, but it would be fun if at least one or two of us did a battle like that. I would be willing to make some gear for myself and I could probably provide people some apples too :slight_smile:

We will make a prize pool for each event made from the entries of each contestant.

What do you think of the events listed? Anything you would recommend or change?

Would most definitely want the PvP, so wanna make that happen. But would we have to bring our own stuff or have a standard kit? Anyway, this would be awesome so it gets my thumbs up! :smiley:
